Reports to: Billing Supervisor or Finance Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Biller to join our finance team at a leading life safety company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating accurate invoices for services and projects related to fire alarm, security, and life safety systems. This role involves coordinating with project managers, service technicians, and customers to ensure timely billing and smooth revenue cycle operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue accurate invoices for service calls, inspections, installations, and system upgrades.

Review work orders, job reports, and contracts to ensure proper billing of labor, materials, and equipment.

Monitor billing schedules for recurring service agreements and maintenance contracts.

Work with project managers to bill progress payments and final project milestones.

Communicate with customers regarding billing questions, disputes, and payment terms.

Collaborate with the collections team to track outstanding invoices and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain accurate records and update billing information in the ERP/accounting system.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable tax regulations.

Assist with audits and month-end closing activities as needed.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in accounting or business preferred).

2+ years of billing or accounting experience, preferably in construction, life safety, or service-based industries.

Familiarity with billing software or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Basic understanding of contract terms, progress billing, and tax rules is a plus.
