Salary Range: $25.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience

THE ROLE

We are seeking an Alternative Fuels Technician to join a growing team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced renewable and alternative energy infrastructure, including Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), and hydrogen fueling systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNG, RNG, hydrogen, biodiesel, and EV charging equipment.
  • Service and repair compressors, pumps, engines, valves, piping, actuators, gas dryers, intercoolers, and related components.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections; record work performed, parts used, and inspection findings.
  • Operate within all federal, state, and local safety regulations while handling alternative fuel systems.
  • Perform general site upkeep including cleaning fueling equipment, enclosures, and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors, dispatch, and other team members regarding work progress and needs.
  • Travel to assigned sites as required to perform service and respond to on-call maintenance needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Prior experience with electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, CNG, RNG, or mechanical systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in service software, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and data entry.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must provide personal tools for maintenance and repair tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Capable of walking, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and operating required tools.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call service rotations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for service assignments.
