POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the VP of Corporate Accounting with various DAH-related tasks.
This position will be responsible for daily accounting activities, preparing monthly financial statements, and general support to senior management.
Specific responsibilities include recording monthly Journal Entries, reconciliation of Balance Sheet, analysis of the Financial Statements and strong understanding of GAAP. Must be able to work independently on Month End reporting tasks and external audit requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
- Manage and record various payroll allocations from DAH support staff
- Prepare and provide supporting documentation to investors and external auditors for financial statements
- Supports all reporting, analysis and financial planning efforts of DAH
- Research variances to budget and forecasts through detailed operational and financial metrics; explains results
- Preparation of journal entries during month and year-end processes
- Tracks and analyzes key financial metrics and operational procedures to foster process improvements
- Drives operational efficiencies and cost savings
- Assists with external audits
- Ad hoc and other administrative functions may also be required to support the department on an as needed basis
- Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting

Educational Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Five years’ experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
- Previous post-acute care (Home Health) experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Language Ability:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

- Ability to use Microsoft Windows. Must be proficient in Excel. Ability to use email and the Internet
