About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk Manager to take ownership of all insurance-related programs across our growing organization. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has strong insurance brokerage experience, and is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and act as the subject matter expert on all lines of insurance, with a strong emphasis on Property and Umbrella coverage, while also overseeing a diverse portfolio including everything from job site and construction risk to private jet coverage, commercial fleet, hazardous materials, manufacturing facilities, and weather-related policies.
This role will be the primary point of contact for all insurance brokers and will require frequent collaboration with General Contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for aligning our policies with business objectives, mitigating organizational risk, and ensuring comprehensive coverage across a wide range of operational exposures.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and manage the company’s full insurance portfolio, including Property, Umbrella, Auto/Fleet, Aviation, Construction, Equipment, Environmental, Flood, and more
• Serve as the main liaison with external insurance brokers and provide strategic guidance during renewals, policy negotiations, and claims
• Review insurance policies and contracts to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance with legal and operational requirements
• Research, identify, and mitigate organizational risks across multiple business units and operational verticals
• Provide risk assessments and ensure the company is properly protected in high-exposure areas such as job sites, transportation, and manufacturing
• Collaborate with General Counsel and business leaders to tailor insurance programs to company growth and risk profile
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and risk trends
• Prepare reports and documentation as needed for internal stakeholders
• Support claims management and resolution processes in coordination with brokers and internal teams
• Eventually support hiring and mentoring as the department scales
Qualifications
Must-Have:
• Active Insurance License (or eligible to be licensed as a broker)
• 7–10 years of experience in commercial insurance/risk management, preferably with a brokerage firm
• Proven experience managing a high-volume book of business for clients of similar size and complexity to PDI
• Strong background in Construction insurance and related coverages
• Experience with a wide variety of policies, including Property, Umbrella, Aviation, Auto/Fleet, Flood, and Hazardous Materials
• Strong policy review and negotiation skills
• Experience working with general contractors, brokers, and commercial clients
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Must meet standard job tenure expectations (no frequent job hopping)

• Background with large-scale clients in the manufacturing, logistics, or construction sectors
