The primary function of this job is to provide outstanding service to members by assisting the Branch Manager in directing the operations of a branch office by fully using job-relevant technical, service, and leadership skills; and maintaining/updating, and seeking to enhance those skills. This position requires the employee to be proficient in Credit Union operations, consumer and real estate lending operations as well assist in providing front-line supervision of the branch staff. This position assumes responsibility for day-to-day management of Branch operations in the Branch Manager’s absence. All management and supervisory positions require the ability to make decisions within established guidelines, the ability to promote a sales environment, and the ability to be a team leader in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork.
Essential Functions
Supervisory Functions
- Assist with overseeing daily Branch operations
- Provide first-line supervisory assistance to employees
- Ensure employees’ adherence to service guidelines and that superior service is provided at all times
- Monitor and coach employees on a monthly basis and provide appropriate feedback using the online performance management system to document results
- Responsible for quality work output of employees
- Look for innovative ways to meet members’ needs
- Implement/Execute all management-approved decisions
- Assist with implementing annual branch operations strategic plan and budget
- Assist with departmental hires, terminations, training, and interpretation of personnel policies in compliance with WEFF and regulatory standards
- Responsible for the timely, thorough, and comprehensive completion of BSR performance appraisals
- Assist with employee training, development, and skill-based advancement
- Assist with organizing personnel into effective, efficient work groups
- Impart corporate vision and mission
- Assist with processing employee payroll
Job-Specific Functions
- Responsible for meeting established sales goals for WEFF products and services
- Responsible for producing sales referrals for new accounts and loans as assigned
- Promote WEFF through contact with members, employee groups, and prospective select SEGs
- Investigate and resolve member problems or complaints
- Ensure compliance with security and operational procedures/policies
- Assist with branch report preparation
- Serve as teller, back office teller, or loan representative as needed, as outlined in the Branch Service Representative job description
- Ensure use of WEFF’s empowerment matrix and adherence to service guidelines & work environment maintenance standards
- Meet established production goals as assigned
- Remain current on legal and regulatory issues that may affect operations and lending
- Prepare and present information in staff meetings
- Identify delinquent loan accounts and assist with collection efforts
- Responsible for overall daily Branch balancing duties
- Responsible for timely completion of Branch audits
- Responsible for compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and Credit Union procedures related to completion and filing of Currency Transaction Reports
- Originate and maintain business accounts and relationships
Lending Functions
- Functional in all aspects of consumer lending, first mortgage lending and home equity lending to include closing home equity loans
- Assist with coordinating and implementing in-branch promotions
Other Functions
- Project a positive professional image for WEFF in community/industry affairs
- Assist with SEG meetings and open enrollments
- Attend and promote WEFF at local community events and fairs to promote the branding of WEFF in the local community
- Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management
- Notarize documents for members and staff (as needed)

- Promote and maintain a team environment
Job Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Financial Institution operations to include lending operations
- Fundamentals of the financial industry, including an understanding of the Federal Reserve System, the check clearing process, and the legal theory of negotiable instruments
- DP system concepts, including systems, hardware, software, and EFT technology
- Personnel administration, wage/salary administration, performance evaluation, succession planning, and training
- Business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmetic
- Credit Union policies, products, services, regulations, and procedures
- PC literate, including working knowledge of Word and Excel
