EMT
We are seeking a caring and friendly EMTr at John Knox Village, a leading healthcare and life plan community located in Pompano Beach.
In this role, the selected candidate will respond to emergency calls from Residents, Employees and Visitors in a efficient and professional manner.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rapid response to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings.
- Assess emergency medical situation and perform physical examinations as needed.
- Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilities
- Determine whether ER visit is needed.
- Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certification.
- Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat and ascertain the extent of injury or illness.
- Complete incident reports documenting any medical response calls on campus.
POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills and Knowledge
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license.
- Valid Driver's License.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience.
- Must have strong attention to detail and note taking skills.
- Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and more than one task at a time.
- Must be able to sit, stand and patrol for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and push at least 50 pounds, and have the stamina, endurance, and flexibility to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel.
Interpersonal Skills
- Outstanding communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Able to effectively communicate via two-way radios.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm at all times.
- Demonstrated ability to be helpful, courteous and attentive.
