Payroll Specialist

Banesco USA is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Human Capital Business Unit.


Primary Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the administration and processing of multi-state, including Puerto Rico, payroll in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining the HRIS system up to date.
  • Ensure timecards are accurate and approved by the respective managers/supervisors on a timely basis.
  • Process any wage garnishments, benefit deduction, reimbursement, etc. in the corresponding payroll cycle.
  • Manage employee inquiries in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service.
  • Completion of New Hire Checklist and Termination Checklist in a timely manner.
  • Assist in gathering audit requests in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring all new hire and transfer information is accurately entered into the HRIS system and all necessary documentation is complete and filed correctly.
  • Responsible for conducting regular audits of employee data in the HRIS system to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
  • Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Psychology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in HR, payroll and or temp staffing experience.
  • Proficient and advance computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Experience with ADP or similar HR system.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of human resource and labor laws and policies.
  • Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish. Ability to fluently speak, understand, read and write both languages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible to change; comfortable with ambiguity when dealing with new tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, working with integrity and ethically, upholding the organizational values.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in daily tasks ensuring assignments are completed accurately and on time.
