Purchasing Logistics Manager - Strategic Leadership Opportunity

Job Description

A rapidly growing national retail organization is seeking a Purchasing Logistics Manager to take ownership of logistics procurement strategy, vendor/carrier relationships, and cost optimization initiatives across a frozen goods supply chain.

This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who can shift processes from tactical to data-driven and automated, deliver measurable cost savings, and influence high-level logistics decisions.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead RFP creation and vendor/carrier evaluations from the ground up.
• Drive process improvement and automation to reduce cost per case and improve efficiency.
• Manage relationships with a 4PL, asset-based carriers, and brokers in a cold chain environment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement logistics strategy and change management initiatives.
• Assess and shape the long-term logistics model, including potential in-house capabilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven logistics procurement and vendor management experience (4PL and carrier/broker).
• Background in cold chain/frozen goods logistics preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and process simplification.
• ERP experience (SAP a plus) and familiarity with TMS systems.
• Ability to thrive as an individual contributor with cross-functional influence.
• Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, APICS/CPIM, or CSCMP preferred.

Role Details:

• Location: Lenoir, NC or Miami, FL (relocation assistance available)
• Travel: Less than 25%
• Compensation: $120K–$130K base + performance bonus
