SYMX Energy is seeking a senior executive to lead the strategic growth, commercial structuring, and lifecycle execution of its U.S. solar portfolio. The Solar Director & Business Development will serve as the principal architect of the company’s renewable expansion strategy, responsible for originating, structuring, financing, and delivering high-performing solar assets through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
This role combines market intelligence, capital structuring expertise, and disciplined execution oversight. The successful candidate will drive portfolio profitability, institutional investor confidence, and long-term enterprise value creation across utility-scale, C&I, and distributed generation platforms.
Strategic Mandate
The Solar Director will:
• Build and execute a multi-year solar growth roadmap
• Develop a scalable project origination and acquisition strategy
• Optimize capital structure and return profiles
• Institutionalize governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks
• Position SYMX as a competitive and bankable renewable energy platform in the U.S. market
Core Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Strategy & Market Expansion
- Lead U.S. solar market entry and geographic expansion strategies
- Identify high-value development zones based on interconnection capacity, incentive programs, and regulatory frameworks
- Establish strategic partnerships with land aggregators, utilities, capital providers, and EPC contractors
- Oversee competitive analysis and portfolio positioning
2. Origination & Commercial Structuring
- Originate utility-scale and C&I solar opportunities
- Lead negotiation of:

- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
- EPC Agreements
- Interconnection Agreements
- Site Control & Lease Agreements
- Structure development capital, tax equity, debt financing, and partnership models
- Direct financial modeling, IRR optimization, and sensitivity analysis
3. Project Governance & Execution Oversight
- Oversee projects from site control through COD
- Implement milestone tracking, risk registers, and governance reporting
- Align development, engineering, procurement, and construction teams
- Monitor schedule adherence, capital deployment, and execution risk
- Ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory compliance standards
4. Financial Leadership & Capital Accountability
- Drive portfolio IRR, NPV, and profitability benchmarks
- Manage development budgets and capital forecasts
- Lead due diligence for acquisitions and portfolio divestitures
- Support tax equity structuring and financing closings
- Present investment memoranda to executive leadership and investors
5. Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities
- Lead interconnection negotiations and permitting strategy
- Maintain strong relationships with utilities, municipalities, and community stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with renewable incentive programs and policy frameworks
Required Experience
- 10+ years in renewable energy development or infrastructure delivery
- Demonstrated success delivering solar projects through COD
- Deep experience in PPAs, EPC contracts, interconnection, and permitting
- Advanced financial modeling and project finance capability
- Executive-level stakeholder management experience
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Credentials
- Utility-scale solar portfolio leadership
- Tax equity structuring experience
- MBA or advanced degree (Finance, Engineering, Business, or Energy)
- PMP or equivalent governance certification
