We are looking for a Quality Control Assistant / Manager to work under the Direction of the Quality Control Manager. Basic purpose of the job is to ensure the optimal control of quality by following the good manufacturing requirements such as sanitation, control of raw ingredients, packaging material, and general good house- keeping in a frozen food processing setting.
Skill Requirements:
You must have at least a minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance/Food Safety role in a food processing company and a degree in Food Science or Science related field.
You must have knowledge of Food Quality & Safety protocols including: HACCP, USDA, FDA, GMP's, SSOP's, Food Safety Audits, Labeling & Micro testing. Any experience in an R&D role would be ideal.
Knowledge or Capable of the following:
MS EXCEL, MS ACCESS and nutritional label software programs. Multi-tasking abilities; attention to details a MUST Self-starter; organized and professional with excellent problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; must be a team player.
Excellent writing computer and office work skills:
MS Word, EXCEL required
Must speak English fluently for effective communication with customers, Spanish fluency is favorable, but not necessary.
USDA/FDA/HACCP/SQF background required.
Physical requirements:
Light work, demands, a lot of walking around of the facilities
Principal Responsibilities:
Control of pre-start operation condition such as plant sanitation, formulation and continuous Quality Control Maintain reports regarding quality control requirements, monitoring at all times general production to maintain regularly optimal quality of the general production Inspect equipment at all times to insure orderly and sanitary condition, this involves swabs, taking samples from production lines as required Assist plant inspectors and visitors during their visit to the facilities Follow up on inspection reviews along with the Quality Control Manager Maintain general computer records as well as logging information
Collect and prepare samples for microbiology analysis according to instructions, record results. Record results on the EXCEL program Maintain the facilities, prepare for any inspection or outside visitor, with the help of the production personnel Assuring that personnel follow up all hygiene and sanitation requirements such as hair nets, gloves, uniforms, Maintain good records and inventory of all materials and items use for quality control General knowledge of the different procedures followed at the quality control laboratory.
Work environment General plant facilities, office area, outside area, quality control laboratory.
