We are looking for a driven Assistant General Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about leadership, service, and operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical leadership role in the day-to-day operations of The Forge. This position supports the General Manager in overseeing staff, maintaining service standards, managing costs, and ensuring a consistently outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-oriented, and ready to lead by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination
- Lead, coach, and motivate hourly and management team members to achieve performance goals
- Ensure exceptional guest service by maintaining high hospitality and service standards
- Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management of staff
- Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs; assist with inventory and ordering
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and health department regulations
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reporting
- Collaborate with ownership and management on process improvements and growth initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage teams in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
- Solid understanding of labor control, cost management, and scheduling
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
