Residential Operations Manager

Job Description

The Residential Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the residential mortgage department, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and superior service delivery. This role requires deep expertise in residential lending, strong leadership skills, and proficiency with Encompass. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, highly knowledgeable in compliance regulations, and experienced in managing teams and processes within a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the residential mortgage operations team, including processors, underwriters, and closers.
• Oversee workflow to ensure timely and accurate loan processing, underwriting, and closing.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and bank regulatory requirements, as well as investor guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain operational procedures, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency.
• Provide training, coaching, and development to staff to enhance performance and knowledge.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies that support growth and operational excellence.
• Utilize Encompass mortgage software to manage pipeline and ensure accuracy in loan files.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in residential mortgage operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
• Banking background required (no commercial real estate focus).
• Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for residential mortgage lending.
• Proficiency with Encompass is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
