Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager at Indian River Habitat for Humanity (IRHFH), and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Accounting Assistant will support the finance team in the day-to-day accounting functions and provide clerical support as needed. Qualified applicant must demonstrate a strong attention to detail and maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.
Requirements:
Primary Duties:
· Support Sr. Accounting Assistant in posting accounts payable and accounts receivables transactions.
· Post daily ReStore sales data, including cash, credit cards and other payment types into the accounting system.
· Maintain credit card log and record credit card receipts.
· Assist Accounting Manager in period end closing and reporting procedures as needed.
· Maintain the highest level of strict confidentiality in all areas of information.
· Support IRHFH staff in records management and retention efforts.
· Assist in maintaining vendor records, including insurance.
· Assist in covering front desk as needed.
· Special projects and administrative support as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Detail oriented and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
· Previous administrative office experience
· QuickBooks experience preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Works well independently as well as in collaboration with a team
