Trust Accountant - West Palm Beach- $55-65k - In office 5 days opportunity

Our client, a global law firm is seeking a meticulous and up and coming Trust Accountant to manage and oversee all financial activities related to client trust accounts. This critical role ensures compliance with legal and ethical requirements while maintaining accurate and transparent records of client funds.

Responsibilities:

Manage Client Trust Accounts:
Oversee the daily transactions and financial activities of client trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations (e.g., state bar rules, IOLTA guidelines).
Process deposits and withdrawals of client funds, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
Prepare and issue trust account checks and electronic transfers.
Maintain detailed and organized records of all trust account transactions, including receipts, disbursements, and balances for each client.
Ensure accurate posting of all trust account transactions to the appropriate client ledgers.

Reconciliations:
Perform regular (daily, weekly, or monthly) reconciliation of trust bank accounts to the firm's internal records and client ledgers to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Conduct three-way reconciliations (bank statement, trust ledger, and client ledgers).

Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with all applicable trust accounting rules, regulations, and ethical guidelines.

Prepare and generate various trust account reports, including transaction summaries, balances, and reconciliation reports for internal review and client inquiries.

Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff regarding trust account matters.
Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries related to their trust funds.
Liaise with banking representatives as needed.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of all trust account information.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience in accounting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.

Prior trust accounting/real estate transactions experience is preferred.

Must have strong AP, AR and bank account reconciliation experience.
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably legal-specific accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
