SUMMARY:
- Responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, patrons and team members. Give direction to Safety & Risk Officers as needed on specific shifts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees Safety & Risk Team Officers during shift, ensuring posts are manned and the business is operating efficiently and effectively from a safety & risk perspective
- Oversee Safety & Risk Officers are in proper attire (designated hotel wardrobe), reporting to duty on time and proper coverage of hotel grounds
- Check all alarm systems, safety and fire equipment systems
- Closely monitor security of building doors, service areas and delivery areas
- Trains new team members on safety and risk protocols and procedures
- Ultimate responsibility for people and property in the absence of Safety & Risk Manager and Director
- Delivers an enthusiastic, professional greeting to guests upon arrival and departure
- Patrols hotel grounds to ensures area all areas are clean, safe and secure
- Builds relationships with patrons that add to the guest experience
- Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures
- Investigates all guests and staff complaints and observations
- Serves as a link between the rest of the management team and the staff
- In charge of maintaining and updating the files of the Safety & Risk Management Department
- Ensures that the department’s equipment is maintained, in good working order, and makes the necessary arrangements for repairs when needed
- In charge of maintaining a confidential trend-file of any and all team member's involved in reported losses, theft and/or fraud
- Makes unannounced spot checks on staff performance at varying times and days
- Reports and notify management with regards to incidents involving guests or patrons
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent education preferred
- 2 years previous Safety & Risk Management experience
- Licenses or Certificates- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses certificates or permits
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of word processors and windows based computers
Working Conditions:
- Work is mostly performed outdoors and requires various shifts and weekend hours. As well as physical patrols of all JHR properties
