A Private Practice in Miami is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Finance Department with multi-entity accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll oversight, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in managing accounting operations in a fast-paced healthcare or multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Review general ledger activity, financial schedules, and variance analyses
- Oversee daily accounting operations (A/P, A/R, cash receipts, deposits, bank reconciliations)
- Support payroll journal entries, benefit allocations, and labor distribution
- Assist with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transfers, and consolidated reporting
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal/external audits
- Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal controls
- Recommend process improvements and support system optimization (QuickBooks, ADP, etc.)
- Provide guidance to accounting staff and serve as backup for the Controller
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and financial analysis as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required
- 3–5 years accounting experience; healthcare or multi-entity experience a plus
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
