GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Wilen is driven by industry-leading agency services and cutting-edge direct mail production. We provide strategic direct marketing solutions for national brands, leveraging innovative variable data technology, to turn concepts into finished digital and physical products, all in one seamless process.
The Technician Manager is responsible for keeping all technical aspects of the mailroom in working order. Other technicians of varying degrees of expertise will report to the Technician Manager. The candidate is ultimately responsible to ensure that all machines are running at optimal performance with as little down time as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
All lawful directives of your supervisor or a member of Company management.
· Lead and manage other technicians on both day and night shift.
· Ensure that all other technicians maintain the Parts Inventory and that we keep enough on hand so there is no down time.
· Identifies parts that can be purchased as non-OEM and finds source vendors.
· Daily upkeep of all production equipment on the shop floor.
· Performance of preventive maintenance on all mailroom equipment when scheduled by the mailroom manager.
· Troubleshooting and diagnostics of all mailing equipment.
· Ability to learn and interpret error messages on a computer interface to diagnose problems.
· Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and company procedures.
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· GED / High School Diploma.
· 5+ years’ experience with maintaining Pitney Bowes, Bowe, Bell & Howell, Kern, or other inserting equipment.
· Technical trade school and/or college or similar experience a plus.
· Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Must possess mechanical aptitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Squatting and kneeling while working on equipment
· Close contact with moving gears and belts will sometimes be required
· attention to all safety procedures must be followed
· Lifting of heavy equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. will be required when changing pocket locations of feeders on an inserting machine
