Position Overview:
VIP Executive Search is seeking a Universal Banker to join a highly respected Credit Union in Miami. This role is ideal for someone who excels in building relationships and providing exceptional service over the phone. Approximately 90% of the workday will be spent assisting members by phone, handling inquiries, processing transactions, and supporting loan and account services remotely.
This multifaceted position combines elements of member service, lending support, and account management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where clear communication and problem-solving are key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spend the majority of each day assisting members by phone, providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service.
- Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to support member inquiries, transactions, and service requests.
- Process transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and account maintenance through phone-based systems.
- Guide members through online and mobile banking tools, assisting with password resets, bill payments, Zelle transactions, and other digital services.
- Open new accounts and assist members with loan applications via phone, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all policies and disclosures.
- Educate members on available products, promotions, and financial solutions that meet their individual needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements including BSA/AML, CIP, and OFAC.
- Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent activity as required by regulatory standards.
- Support team initiatives and contribute to a positive, service-focused environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Minimum two years of experience in member services, call center, or branch operations (credit union experience preferred).
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Strong phone communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey professionalism and empathy in every interaction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and banking systems.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a phone-based environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and service recovery skills.
