The Accounting Manager/CPA is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing and directing all accounting functions across the organization. This role provides insight into profitability and operational efficiency. This individual will partner closely with Operations and Executive Leadership to ensure compliance and support business growth.
Responsibilities include
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports as well as budgeting.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Oversee regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems to include NetSuite and Sage, and Microsoft Office.
- Direct cost analysis activities include accuracy in cost accounting processes, margin and profitability analysis, and assessments of cost variances.
- Inventory control including valuation accuracy, physical inventory counts and identifying excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA designation preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience primarily in small to mid-sized companies
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and able to prioritize and complete varied tasks concurrently
- Expertise in federal, state and local level tax issues and procedures
