Senior Internal Auditor – Miami, FL


Company Overview
A leading global cruise line is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its Internal Audit team in Miami. This role plays a key part in operational, financial, compliance, and shipboard audits, while also contributing to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing, enterprise risk management, and continuous innovation through AI and data analytics.


Responsibilities

  • Perform operational, financial, and compliance audits to evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and execute audit programs, document results, and communicate findings to management.
  • Design and perform SOX control testing, assess control design and effectiveness, and assist with remediation.
  • Support Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives by assessing risks, reviewing mitigation plans, and preparing reports for leadership.
  • Collaborate on innovation within audit processes by integrating data analytics, AI, and predictive auditing methods.
  • Prepare and present detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist external auditors and complete special projects or investigations as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of internal audit, accounting, or operational audit experience, including at least 1 year of SOX testing (Big Four or Fortune 500 background preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of internal controls and COSO framework.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
    • Experience with PeopleSoft, AuditBoard, or Tableau is preferred.
    • Exposure to AI, data analytics, or predictive auditing is a plus.
  • Certifications (preferred): CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or similar.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and analytical thinking. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
  • Travel: Approximately 10% (including shipboard assignments).
