BrandStar Digital is in search of a Business Development Specialist to manage the pipeline of incoming leads and opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, and identify new business opportunities. The Business Development Specialist must be able to create effective strategies to increase sales and execute them. This role is responsible for growing the organization's marketing services through building strong, consultative relationships with new business clients and, ultimately, grow revenues to achieve targets.
Specific responsibilities of the Business Development Specialist include:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Prospect new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, and networking events.
- Manage inbound leads through the full sales cycle—from initial discovery to closing and onboarding.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and partners using a client-centric, consultative sales approach.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support and execute demand generation campaigns and initiatives.
- Leverage tools and systems (e.g., HubSpot) to engage with decision-makers and track outreach.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline data and client records within the CRM.
- Identify client needs, pain points, and potential solutions aligned with agency capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to define the scope of work for new opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver tailored presentations that clearly articulate the agency's value proposition and differentiators.
- Draft and present proposals and statements of work to prospective clients and partners.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements in alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Close new business to meet or exceed revenue, profit, and performance targets (e.g., qualified opportunities, meetings set, closed deals).
- Effectively communicate client expectations and deliverables to internal teams and external vendors.
- Serve as an escalation point for client concerns when necessary to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Track and report on weekly KPIs related to sales activity, performance, and pipeline health.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital marketing and creative services.

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of proven experience in business development or sales, preferably for a creative agency or digital marketing agency.
- Experience with a consultative sales approach, including cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, email outreach, and attending business networking events to generate leads.
- Demonstrated ability to sell marketing agency services and effectively communicate agency value propositions during sales pitches and presentations.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, especially HubSpot; experience with PandaDoc is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing fundamentals and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with C-level executives and key decision-makers.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed and occasionally work outside normal business hours.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
