We are seeking a Junior Interior Designer with a specialization in cabinetry design to join our collaborative and highly creative team.
Position Overview
As a Junior Interior Designer – Cabinetry Specialist, you will support the design team in the development and execution of custom millwork and cabinetry concepts for high-end residential projects. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, a strong foundation in interior design, and technical expertise in cabinetry design. You will work under the guidance of the Director of Design and collaborate closely with senior designers, architects, and fabricators to bring luxurious spaces to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design team in developing cabinetry concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings.
- Create precise construction drawings and elevations using Chief Architect, AutoCAD, and other design software.
- Collaborate on material selections, hardware, finishes, and custom details aligned with the firm’s luxury standards.
- Assist in sourcing materials, vendor coordination, and maintaining sample libraries.
- Work with senior designers to ensure that cabinetry designs are integrated seamlessly with the overall design intent.
- Participate in design meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
- Prepare mood boards, renderings, and presentations to communicate cabinetry concepts.
- Coordinate with millworkers, contractors, and fabricators to ensure accuracy and quality of built-ins.
- Maintain project documentation, drawing sets, and revision logs.
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a high-end residential interior design setting, with a focus on cabinetry or millwork.
- Proficiency in Chief Architect and AutoCAD is required; familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, detailing, and luxury materials.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A refined design sensibility and appreciation for craftsmanship and luxury aesthetics.
