Position Summary
The Family Advisor serves as the primary sales and relationship leader for the community, guiding prospective residents and their families through the decision-making process of transitioning into senior living. This role blends consultative sales, education, and emotional support to ensure families feel informed, confident, and supported while selecting the appropriate level of care.
The Family Advisor is responsible for achieving occupancy goals while maintaining a compassionate, ethical, and resident-centered approach that aligns with the organization’s mission and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Occupancy Management

Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through move-in, including follow-up, tours, assessments, and closing

Achieve and exceed monthly and annual occupancy and revenue targets

Conduct in-depth discovery conversations to understand family needs, care requirements, and financial considerations

Present appropriate levels of care and pricing options clearly and transparently

Maintain accurate sales pipeline and documentation in CRM systems
Family & Resident Engagement

Serve as a trusted advisor to families during emotionally complex transitions

Build strong relationships with prospective residents, families, and referral sources

Coordinate move-in processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition

Partner with clinical and operations teams to align care needs with community capabilities
Referral & Community Outreach

Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, rehab centers, physicians, social workers, and community partners

Represent the community at networking events, health fairs, and professional meetings

Maintain ongoing engagement with past prospects and referral partners
Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Executive Director, Director of Health & Wellness, and operations leaders to align sales strategy with care capacity

Participate in daily stand-ups, sales meetings, and occupancy planning discussions

Communicate honestly and ethically regarding availability, care expectations, and community services
Data, Reporting & Compliance

Maintain accurate records in CRM and marketing systems

Track and report sales metrics including leads, tours, conversion rates, and move-ins

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards

Protect resident and family confidentiality at all times
QualificationsRequired
-
Minimum of 2–3 years of sales experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or service-based industries

Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills

Demonstrated ability to close sales while maintaining empathy and professionalism

Comfort working with families during sensitive and emotional situations

Proficiency with CRM systems and basic office technology
Preferred

Senior living, healthcare, or long-term care experience

Knowledge of IL, AL, and/or Memory Care service models

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, healthcare administration, or related field

Experience working with referral sources and community partners
