Job DescriptionJob Overview:
The HR Generalist plays a key role in cultivating a Christ-centered and high-performing staff culture through effective HR support and service. This role supports day-to-day HR operations and administers employee benefit plans and compensation procedures. The Generalist also assists with recruitment, onboarding, HR compliance, employee relations, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, proactive, and has a heart for ministry and people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with payroll and benefits administration tasks (e.g., new hires, changes, leave support, workers' comp documentation).- Ensure key employment documentation, background checks, audits, and compliance processes are completed timely.
- Administer all HR record management and assist in completing the same (e.g., I9s, unemployment claims, retirement plans, etc)
- Support full-cycle recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing applicant pipelines
- Provide administrative support for HR programs, audits, reporting, and events
- Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure smooth, ministry-aligned assimilation.
- Assist in scheduling orientations, preparing materials, and facilitating HR presentations when needed.
- Support employee appreciation, engagement, and spiritual development initiatives.
- Provide support to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Uphold and reinforce ministry values, conduct expectations, and servant-leadership principle
- Assist with special projects and ministry initiatives as directed by the HR Director
- Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 3-5+ years of HR experience, preferably in ministry, nonprofit or a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of basic HR compliance and best practices.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and applicant tracking software.
