Job Details:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Permanent Safety Manager to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a critical role that involves ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of safety practices in the construction industry and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs to mitigate occupational hazards and risks. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the Safety Manager expected to be on-site, actively promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce safety policies and conduct regular site inspections
  • Develop and review safety plans, JSAs, and pre-task documents
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and training sessions
  • Mentor field staff and subcontractors on safety best practices
  • Oversee proper use of fall protection, scaffolding, and lifts
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain documentation
  • Support bilingual training and communication (English/Spanish, if applicable)


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in drywall, framing, construction, acoustical ceiling - preferred
  • Excellent understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • OSHA 510 certification required
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred
  • BCSP STSC Certification or higher required
  • First Aid and CPR - required
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage others in safety practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with safety management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
