Job Purpose: The Copywriter/Storyteller is responsible for capturing and communicating the impact of our ministry in ways that inspire generosity and deepen donor relationships. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and has a passion for using words to glorify God and invite others into Kingdom work.
KEY REPONSIBILTITIES
- Storytelling & Copywriting
- Write compelling donor impact stories, appeals, newsletters, and campaign content that connect hearts to the mission.
- Interview clients, donors, volunteers, and staff to capture authentic stories of life change.
- Develop engaging content for social media, email campaigns, and the website that highlights Gods work.
- Ensure all communications are Christ-centered, donor-focused, and aligned with organizational values.
- Event Support
- Attend fundraising events, donor gatherings, and community expos to collect stories, quotes, photos, and video content.
- Assist with registration, donor care, and data collection at events.
- Prepare post-event reports and follow-up stories for use in communications.
- Administrative & Marketing Support
- Update donor records, story notes, and campaign outcomes in Virtuous CRM.
- Assist with mailings, acknowledgments, and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with the development team on marketing campaigns, donor journeys, and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
- A committed Christian with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
- Excellent writing and storytelling ability able to craft narratives that move people to action.
- Copywriting experience in journalism, marketing, or nonprofit communications preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to conduct interviews with sensitivity and compassion.
- Familiarity with email marketing, social media, Canva, and CRM systems (Virtuous a plus).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Event support or nonprofit experience a plus.
