Summary

The Freezer / Shipping Associate is responsible for efficiently handling, moving, and organizing products and pallets within freezer storage areas, while also supporting shipping operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask between freezer and shipping functions, and adherence to established procedures. The associate will ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP), and all safety standards to maintain product quality, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to keep products moving in an organized FIFO rotation.
• Ability to operate yard truck, forklift, stacker, electric and manual pallet jacks.
• Ability to withstand cold temps as low as – 20 degrees.
• Required to stay in the freezer for up to 2 hours at a time.
• Responsible for stacking finished boxes from conveyor line to pallets, according to stack pattern and product.
• Responsible for counting and reporting finished product quantities at the end of each day’s production run and reporting to the manager via the production reporting sheet.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wrap multiple pallets with plastic wrap.
• Ability to operate pallet wrapping machine.
• Ability to move trailers around yard for loading or parking.
• Report inventory or cycle counts when required.
• Verify final production counts, document pre-operation inspections.
• Ability to complete work assignments according to the shipping and receiving schedule.
• Ensure all customer’s picked up orders at shipping dock are accurate.
• Assists in the opening and closing of the freezers.
• Keep freezers, warehouse, yard and all surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
• Able to communicate with pallet providers to setup delivery appointments.
• Maintain trailer, warehouse, and all pallet integrity.
• Fill in for all freezer and warehouse personnel when required.
• Assist in dressing freezer associates with necessary freezer gear.
• Must be available to help any department in need.
• Ability to work with scheduling department to assist in scheduling freezer employees when supervisor or lead is not present.
• Must be flexible with availability which will include days, nights, and weekends when necessary.
