POSITION SUMMARY:

The FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Manager plays a key strategic and analytical role within the Finance team, leading all forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance reporting efforts. This role works cross-functionally with operational, clinical, and executive leaders to develop insights that inform decision-making and drive sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborative partner, with deep financial modeling experience and a passion for delivering mission-aligned financial strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Lead the organization’s annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting cycles across all business units.
  • Build and maintain driver-based financial models to support both short-term and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and department leaders to ensure accurate and timely volume and cost projections.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Prepare and present monthly financial reporting packages, KPIs, and dashboards for executive leadership and private equity partners.
  • Analyze actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior-year results, highlighting trends, variances, and actionable insights.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of practice-level scorecards and operational performance metrics.

Strategic Finance & Decision Support

  • Construct financial models to evaluate new business initiatives, acquisitions, and capital projects.
  • Conduct ROI and margin analysis by service line, payer type, and practice location.
  • Support the development of business cases and scenario analysis for staffing plans, partnership opportunities, and contract negotiations.

Integration & Systems

  • Support financial integration of newly acquired entities, aligning forecasting and reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and IT teams to improve data transparency and automate workflows across ERP, EHR, payroll, and planning systems.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of business intelligence tools and planning software platforms.


Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of FP&A principles.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid managed care, capitation models, and healthcare reimbursement strategies.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains), Power BI, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong business acumen with a passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Curious, analytical, and highly detail-oriented.
  • Mission-aligned and driven to improve care for underserved pediatric populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team-first mindset.
  • Confident in presenting financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of FP&A experience, preferably in a healthcare or multi-site service setting.
  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in supporting strategic financial decisions and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in Revenue Cycle Management and eClinicalWorks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May oversee financial analysts or FP&A support roles as the department expands.
