SCOPE:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Auto Property Damage Claims Trainer to design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs for auto claims adjusters. This role focuses on ensuring that adjusters have the technical skills, industry expertise, and customer service acumen needed to handle auto property damage claims accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards. This position offers a remote work arrangement within the Southeast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver structured training programs focused on auto property damage claims, including estimating, repair processes, liability assessment, coverage analysis, and applicable state regulations.
- Conduct engaging instructor-led training sessions—virtually and in person—for both new hires and experienced adjusters.
- Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and resources that reflect current industry practices, state-specific laws (e.g., FL, TX, GA), and evolving company procedures.
- Utilize case studies, role-playing, and hands-on exercises to reinforce learning and simulate real-world claim scenarios.
- Partner with claims leadership and subject matter experts to ensure training content is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with business goals.
- Evaluate trainee performance through assessments, feedback sessions, and observation; provide coaching and development support as needed.
- Monitor training effectiveness using metrics and adjust programs accordingly to drive improvement in quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed on trends in auto claims handling, insurance legislation, and best practices across markets, particularly in nonstandard auto.
- Support the onboarding of new adjusters, ensuring they transition smoothly into their roles with the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
- Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for auto property damage claims, offering ongoing guidance and professional development.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in auto property damage adjusting, preferably in a training, leadership, or mentorship capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of auto physical damage estimating, repair shop procedures, total loss handling, and liability decision-making.
- Strong understanding of nonstandard auto insurance and jurisdictional nuances, particularly in Florida, Texas, and Georgia.
- Proven ability to lead training for both new-to-industry associates and seasoned adjusters in a virtual and/or hybrid environment.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills; able to break down complex technical topics for diverse learners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams).
- Experience with Guidewire or similar platform preferred.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and a strong focus on delivering high-quality training experiences.
- Professional certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU, I-Car, or related) are a plus but not required.
