POSITION OVERVIEW

1/ST is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide financial support and analysis for its corporate activities. This includes working closely with the operations, finance and procurement teams, and project managers to establish budgets, monitor performance, and report on actual results. A significant component of the position includes ad hoc financial analysis and support across our 1/ST teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with racing, gaming, hospitality, marketing and operations teams to assess requirements for budgeting purposes
  • Help produce budgets and forecasts for revenue, expenses, cashflow and variance analysis
  • In addition to budgets and forecasting, run multiple financial reports to support ongoing analysis and decision-making
  • Provide guidance about the budget process, cycles, and procedures to ensure needs are met in a timely and customer-focused manner
  • Facilitate regular meetings to review the status of budgets and forecasts
  • Responsible for on-going enhancements and training on the budgeting process
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with operational and finance teams through an understanding of their purpose and objectives
  • Work seamlessly with the property finance teams to ensure monthly P&Ls are recording costs and revenues in the appropriate budgets and work directly with department heads to ensure ongoing budget management is being administered
  • Make recommendations for improvement and any cost savings / cost avoidance initiatives
  • Ad hoc analysis, as requested
  • Travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
  • 2+ years of financial planning and analysis experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience with Business Central software or Datarails is a strong plus
  • Exhibit exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated individual with a “roll up the sleeves attitude” and a “hands-on” style, having the aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
