Job Description
Summary:
Manages the daily patient services function of the Food Service department.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and assists with all food safety and sanitation regulations assuring compliance.
- Assesses the quality of patient meal services and develops relationships with other departments. Handles patient complaints, grievances, special requests and elevates issues when necessary.
- Determines and justifies needs for systems, monitors supply purchases and usage and oversees equipment management and maintenance.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling and payroll.
- Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Education and Certification Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Required Work Experience: 3 years experience in food service; 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Additional Job Information: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
