Project Accountant
Position Overview
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with contract terms. This role involves collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee project accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and process AIA billing and change orders in accordance with contract terms.
- Track and manage purchase orders and subcontractor payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Utilize ComputerEase and Procore software for project financial management and reporting.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and project cost reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting with a GENERAL CONTRACTOR not a sub.
- Proficiency in ComputerEase and Procore accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of AIA billing and change order processes.
- Excellent Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including subcontractors and project managers.
