Director of Accounting – Rentyl Resorts
Location: Boca Raton, FL or Orlando, FL
Schedule: Full-Time (45+ hours/week), Monday–Friday 9AM–6PM; nights/weekends as needed
Department: Accounting
Reports To: CFO
Rentyl Resorts is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead all financial operations across a multi-entity, multi-property hospitality portfolio. This role oversees financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, audits, and accounting systems for both corporate and property-level teams. The Director partners with executive leadership to drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and scalable accounting operations that support company growth.
Ideal candidates have strong experience in hospitality accounting, hotel finance, restaurant accounting, or property management accounting, with a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Build scalable team structures to support portfolio growth.
- Set performance expectations and support professional development.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Oversee accurate, timely consolidated financial statements (GAAP).
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
General Accounting Oversight
- Manage GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Ensure accurate intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies and internal controls.
Third-Party & Managed Asset Accounting
- Oversee accounting for third-party managed hotels and properties.
- Ensure accurate calculation of management fees and reimbursable expenses.
- Serve as primary liaison for property owners and partners.
- Support owner audits and financial reviews.
Hospitality Operations Support
- Ensure proper accounting for rooms, F&B, events, and ancillary revenue.
- Monitor key hospitality metrics (GOP, NOI, labor costs, margins).
- Align financial reporting with operational performance.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
- Serve as owner of ERP, PMS, POS, payroll, and reporting systems.
- Ensure data integrity and standardized reporting across entities.
- Lead automation, process improvements, and close optimization.
Strategic Partnership & Planning
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Collaborate on budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts.
- Support new property openings, transitions, and acquisitions.
Treasury, Risk & Compliance
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Manage banking and merchant processing relationships.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strong governance and audit remediation.
Requirements
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-property accounting
- Hospitality, hotel, or restaurant industry experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Expert knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced proficiency with NetSuite and ERP/reporting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
