Outside Security Sales Consultant

What you’ll do:
As an Outside Security Sales Consultant at SafeTouch Security, you will be a driving force in expanding our market presence by selling a diverse range of integrated security systems to residential and small business customers. Your responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and providing customized security solutions. A proactive, self-driven approach is essential, as most leads are self-generated.
You’ll also:
- Develop strategic action plans to achieve business targets.
- Increase market share by selling SafeTouch’s integrated security solutions to new and existing residential, small, and medium-sized business customers.
- Strengthen the service agreement base by renewing and expanding existing customer service agreements.
- Lead and contribute to the technical development, pricing, and presentation of comprehensive proposals.
- Actively participate in and lead customer presentations/systems demonstrations using technical knowledge, sales skills, and business acumen.
- Establish call plans and customer follow-up strategies, applying effective time and territory management techniques.
- Collaborate with internal resources to enhance operational delivery using customer feedback and industry trends.
- Work with Field Operations teams to ensure the proper application of system products to meet customer expectations.
- Conduct market research on emerging technologies impacting regional markets.
- Adhere to SafeTouch policies and procedures in all project preparation and implementation.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in sales or a related field.
- Knowledge of integrated security systems (intrusion detection, surveillance, access controls, etc.) is helpful.
- Experienced with MS Office, smartphones, iPads, and personal computers.
- Comfortable with technology and learning new software and systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
- Proactive prospector, politely persistent, focused, action-oriented, and competitive.
- Quickly develop an understanding of customer needs through asking the right questions, listening to their responses, and offering tailored solutions.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Successful completion of state certifications within the first 3 months, as required by law, to sell home security.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
- Proof of personal vehicle insurance to include automobile liability and property damage coverage.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Stand, walk, or remain seated at a desk for extended periods.
- Move equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
- Observe details at close range.
- Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information.
- Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials, while interacting with others.
- Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically.
- Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions.
- Drive to work, client sites, and as business needs require.
- Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces or both.
- Safely ascend and descend stairs as needed.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to take counts and measurements.
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Work/Base Location: Tampa, FL
Work Hours/Availability: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Flexibility to accommodate customer schedules and occasional Saturdays, when needed.
Travel: Mainly local, but there may be occasional out-of-town travel for training, customer meetings, or industry events.
