POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Director leads the organization’s financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and consolidated reporting functions across all operations. This role is accountable for developing forecasts that shape the company’s growth trajectory and financial outlook, while partnering with executive leadership to establish long-range goals and strategic plans. The Finance Director designs and manages weekly and monthly reporting processes, dashboards, and performance models, and conducts ad-hoc analyses to evaluate key opportunities and risks.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Performance Monitoring & Dashboards
- Analyze current and historical trends in KPIs across revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Build and maintain dashboards to track performance and highlight variances.
- Investigate causes of unexpected results and recommend corrective actions.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Oversee development of budgeting, forecasting, operating plans, and financial modeling tools.
- Manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term strategic planning.
- Lead financial input in operational planning and cross-functional projects to improve forecasting accuracy.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct ROI and P&L analysis across all divisions.
- Evaluate capital spending and new projects for efficiency and return.
- Prepare and present monthly/annual financial statements and reporting materials.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and organized financial reporting.
Strategic Initiatives & Risk Management
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and new business opportunities.
- Identify, quantify, and report risks and opportunities tied to company goals.
- Connect business initiatives to measurable financial outcomes.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work cross-functionally to review dashboards and align execution with recommendations.
- Provide alternatives and solutions to optimize performance.
- Support ad-hoc analysis requests as needed.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Ability to accurately disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data
- Ability to handle complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutions
- Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. Finance/Accounting required; MBA preferred; Professional qualifications (CPA, CIA or equivalent) desirable
- Minimum of (4-6) years’ experience in the field
- Solid working knowledge of software applications for data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation (i.e., MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL, etc.)
- Experience developing reports for tracking and translating information from quantitative data to infographics (charts, trends, slides, etc.)
