Outside Sales Representative

Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive Base + Commission (DOE)

Join Decimal Engineering – a leader in precision manufacturing – and drive growth across advanced fabrication industries.
We’re seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to promote our full range of services: precision sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, laser cutting, stamping, screw machining, and wire EDM. This role requires regular travel and on-site customer visits, so confidence in face-to-face client engagement is a must.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect & Grow - Identify new B2B opportunities through research, cold calling, referrals, and industry networking
  • Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong customer relationships with a focus on understanding their needs and delivering solutions
  • Sales Execution – Conduct on-site visits, deliver presentations, and negotiate deals to meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Team Collaboration – Coordinate with engineering, production, and customer service to ensure successful project delivery
  • Market Awareness – Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and customer demands to spot new opportunities
  • Brand Representation – Attend trade shows, events, and client meetings to represent Decimal and grow the company’s presence

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of B2B outside sales experience (manufacturing or industrial preferred)
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (a plus)
  • CRM software proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel regularly (up to 50%) and conduct in-person customer visits

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in custom or contract manufacturing sales
  • Existing contacts in industries such as aerospace, medical, electronics, or automotive
  • Familiarity with precision manufacturing processes like CNC machining or sheet metal fabrication
