Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensures workstation is clean and sanitary.
· Assists with menu development and creating signature dishes.
· Greest and serves members and guests in a friendly and efficient manner; resolves any concerns promptly.
· Safely handle and prepare ready-to-eat raw food items in compliance with food safety regulations.
· Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods properly and in accordance with public health safety, state, and local laws.
· Breaks down and cleans workstation at the end of service.
· Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
· Communicates with members, co-workers, management, staff, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the standards of Port Royal Club.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Culinary Supervisor, Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Executive Chef.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficient in making sushi rolls with attention to creativity and presentation.
· Basic knife skills required.
· Requires solid understanding of food preparation.
· Ability to stand in one place for extended periods of time.
· Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and members.
· Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
· Ability to read, write, comprehend correspondence and communicate well in English.
· Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram instructions using common sense and sound judgment.
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Minimum of 2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Prior experience in a sushi preparation role is required.
· Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
· Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 25 - 50 pounds.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
