The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards. This role will involve handling day-to-day accounting functions and overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial statements preparation, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, be detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Work on the preparation and timely delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and accounting reporting.
  • Ensure the company's financial records are accurate, complete, and comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Maintain and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Compile financial trend reports on company performance and customer performance.

Accounting Operations:

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoices, credit card expenses and reconciliations, cash applications, and inventory management.
  • Handle month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow to support day-to-day operations and capital investments.
  • Calculate monthly sales commissions and generate 1099 forms.
  • Process new customers' credit references, provide them with credit limits, and ensure all paperwork is on file and up to date.
  • Administration of business investments.
  • Order Processing: responsible for all customer orders, shipping documents and delivery schedules. Will manage the order entry clerk and works closely with warehouse staff to ensure accurate order processing.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes, working closely with leadership to establish realistic financial planning.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement.

Audit and Tax Management:

  • Completes month-end and year-end closing processes in preparation for CPA review.
  • Work with CPA on tax planning and compliance with federal, state, corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes as needed.
  • Files monthly sales tax filings and works with CPA to ensure regulations and filing requirements are met.

Integration of Technology and Processes:

  • Manage software systems or applications used in accounting operations to ensure data accuracy.
  • Recommend and manage any new department relevant software implementation as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and drive automated processes throughout accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, such as pricing, product development, and market expansion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as sales, operations, and procurement to achieve business goals. (Reporting).

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements that may impact on the business.
  • Coordinate audits and examinations by CPA, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies, if needed.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Must be proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Power BI Data Visualization software a plus.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven assertiveness and the ability to prioritize objectives while proactively seeking solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills encompassing verbal, written, proofreading, and grammar.
