The Opportunity: Impactful Project Accounting

As a Project Accountant for our premier client, you will be the financial linchpin for projects under development. You will play a critical role in managing lender compliance, internal reporting, and cash flow monitoring to ensure that high-profile developments move from blueprint to reality seamlessly. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly impacts the success of multi-million dollar projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Finance: Coordinate and prepare loan closing draws and construction loan draws to ensure timely funding of development costs and contractor payments.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and monitor interest reserve analyses to ensure that adequate funds are available for all project interest payments.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Review complex legal documents (construction loan agreements, lease agreements, etc.) and prepare accurate monthly project reports.
  • Client & Vendor Liaison: Invoice clients for development costs and communicate effectively with lenders, developers, and internal stakeholders to resolve financial matters and issues.
  • Full-Cycle Support: Assist in the seamless transition of properties from Development to Property Management, maintaining high standards of data integrity and reconciliation.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Controller to refine departmental policies and advise on process efficiencies.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Project/Cost Accounting specifically within the Real Estate or Construction industries.
  • AIA Billing Process extremely helpful
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in general accounting functions (AP, journal entries, account reconciliations) and a sharp ability to interpret complex legal and financial documents.
