A Human Resources and Credentialing Assistantsupports both the HR and credentialing functions within an organization.This role involves a mix of administrative and operational tasks, including managing employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and handling credentialing processes for medical staff or other professionals.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Employee Record Management:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal details, employment contracts, performance evaluations, and benefits documentation.
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assisting with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting background checks if needed, formatting and sending offer letters and employment contracts, and supporting new employee orientations.
- Benefits Administration:
- Assisting with benefits enrollment, processing payroll tasks, and responding to employee inquiries related to benefits and payroll.
- Collaborating with insurance broker to ensure accuracy of benefits and payroll deductions.
- Assisting with scheduling annual open enrollment for benefits.
- General HR Support:
- Providing administrative support to the HR team, answering employee inquiries, and assisting with various HR-related projects and tasks.
- Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Other Duties:
- May include tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and handling general HR correspondence.
Specific tasks related to credentialing might include:
- Credentialing and Privileging:
- Coordinating and maintaining all aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing process for medical staff or other professionals, including initial appointments, reappointment, and expirations.
- Gathering and verifying information for initial applications, reappointments, and renewals.
- Maintain current and accurate profiles for credentialing applications such as CAQH.
- Maintaining current and accurate credentialing files and track expiration dates for licenses and certifications.
- Coordinating with various departments and external organizations to ensure timely credentialing processes.
- Payer contracting
- Coordinate with office administrators to ensure timely and successful site visit inspections.
- Maintain and verify provider rosters by Tax Identification Number to ensure accuracy and correct any discrepancies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HR and/or credentialing software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain and protect company confidentiality.
