A Human Resources and Credentialing Assistantsupports both the HR and credentialing functions within an organization.This role involves a mix of administrative and operational tasks, including managing employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and handling credentialing processes for medical staff or other professionals.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  1. Employee Record Management:
  1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal details, employment contracts, performance evaluations, and benefits documentation.
  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
  1. Assisting with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting background checks if needed, formatting and sending offer letters and employment contracts, and supporting new employee orientations.
  1. Benefits Administration:
  1. Assisting with benefits enrollment, processing payroll tasks, and responding to employee inquiries related to benefits and payroll.
  1. Collaborating with insurance broker to ensure accuracy of benefits and payroll deductions.
  1. Assisting with scheduling annual open enrollment for benefits.
  1. General HR Support:
  1. Providing administrative support to the HR team, answering employee inquiries, and assisting with various HR-related projects and tasks.
  1. Compliance:
  1. Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  1. Other Duties:
  1. May include tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and handling general HR correspondence.

Specific tasks related to credentialing might include:

  1. Credentialing and Privileging:
  1. Coordinating and maintaining all aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing process for medical staff or other professionals, including initial appointments, reappointment, and expirations.
  1. Gathering and verifying information for initial applications, reappointments, and renewals.
  1. Maintain current and accurate profiles for credentialing applications such as CAQH.
  1. Maintaining current and accurate credentialing files and track expiration dates for licenses and certifications.
  1. Coordinating with various departments and external organizations to ensure timely credentialing processes.
  1. Payer contracting
  1. Coordinate with office administrators to ensure timely and successful site visit inspections.
  1. Maintain and verify provider rosters by Tax Identification Number to ensure accuracy and correct any discrepancies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HR and/or credentialing software is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain and protect company confidentiality.
