Job DescriptionPayroll Title: Prenatal Academy Facilitator
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Prenatal Academy Facilitator will coordinate the scheduling of these professionals to provide the mainstay of the resources to pregnant women and new mothers whose children are enrolled in Le Jardin Head Start and Early Head Start.
- Works with Family Workers to actively recruit new mothers and pregnant women to the prenatal academy.
- Works with Family Workers to ensure new mothers and pregnant women attend the prenatal academy on a regular basis.
- Provides nutrition education; assists women in completing a prenatal food frequency questionnaire
- Coordinates presentation of information to all women enrolled in the prenatal academy
- Provides family-centered education, addresses women’s unique needs by providing routine perinatal health education and referrals to services per Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program
- Refers women as needed to various community resources
- Coordinates with local community partners to provide incentives to pregnant women and new mothers – including incentives for attendance and graduation.
- Update Prenatal Academy Facilitator Standard Operating Procedure as needed
- Administration has the authority to assign additional duties as seen fit for the benefit of the organization
Qualifications:
- At least an AA/AS degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas both orally and in writing.
- Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
