Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to oversee the financial closeout of a major commercial construction project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a contract position, ideal for someone with a strong background in project cost management and construction accounting. The role involves close collaboration with the operations team to ensure accurate billing, cost reporting, and compliance throughout the project closeout phase.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage detailed owner billings, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
• Maintain and update cost reports, tracking expenses and allocations to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with the operations team to facilitate the successful financial closeout of the project.
• Conduct weekly accounting meetings to review financial progress and address any discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with lien release processes and other financial requirements.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of job costs, including tracking and reporting.
• Utilize intermediate-level Excel skills to analyze financial data and generate reports.
• Support AIA billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Provide backup documentation to support all billed amounts and project expenses.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project accounting or cost control within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, expense allocation, and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with AIA billing and lien release processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate-level skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Ability to lead accounting meetings and communicate effectively with team members.
• Proven ability to manage financial reporting and documentation for large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with contract billing and compliance requirements.
