Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Position Type: In Office, with possibility for occasional travel
Reports to: Owner/President, with operational oversight from the Operations Manager
Expected Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST Monday - Friday, plus occasional evenings for events.
Wage & Classification: $65,000, Salary, Exempt, Eligible for bonuses
Supervises: Marketing Assistant & Events Concierge
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our firm is growing, and we’re looking for a polished, relationship‑driven Business Development & Events Manager to help expand our network, elevate our visibility, and strengthen the high‑value relationships that fuel our success. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in professional environments, enjoys connecting with people, and knows how to turn consistent outreach and exceptional event execution into meaningful business opportunities.
You’ll be at the center of the firm’s relationship‑driven growth engine — connecting with high‑value individuals, supporting strategic partnerships, and ensuring our events and outreach efforts are executed with excellence. Your work directly impacts the firm’s visibility, reputation, and long‑term success.
If you’re organized, confident, and skilled at building rapport with high‑level professionals, this role offers the chance to directly support the firm’s growth strategy while representing us at events, in communications, and in key relationship‑building initiatives.
Compensation:
$65,000 + Incentives
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Support the Owner in executing relationship‑driven growth initiatives.
- Conduct outreach to targeted referral sources, professional partners, and high‑value contacts.
- Maintain consistent follow‑up to nurture long‑term relationships.
- Track engagement, referrals, and outreach activity using CRM tools and Google Sheets.
- Represent the firm professionally at firm‑hosted events and select external networking or industry events.
Event Planning & Execution
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing firm‑hosted events, networking functions, and community engagements.
- Identify and invite appropriate high‑value attendees.
- Coordinate event communications, RSVPs, reminders, and post‑event follow‑up.
- Track attendance, engagement, and referrals generated from events.
- Ensure events attract individuals aligned with the firm’s ideal clientele and referral goals, and lead new clientele to hire the firm for legal needs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide direction and oversight to the Marketing Assistant and Events Concierge.
- Assign tasks, review execution, and ensure marketing and outreach activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate on outreach campaigns, event communications, newsletters, and follow‑up initiatives.
- Conduct quarterly KPI and performance review meetings for the Marketing Assistant and Events Concierge.
Organization & Reporting
- Maintain accurate contact lists, referral databases, and outreach records.
- Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics related to outreach, engagement, and event performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen engagement, and enhance business development outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Experience in business development, sales, client relations, outreach, or relationship management — ideally within a professional services environment (law, finance, real estate, consulting, etc.).
- Comfortable communicating with high‑level professionals and high‑net‑worth individuals with confidence and polish.
- Skilled in outreach, follow‑up, and relationship nurturing.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, contact databases, or tracking tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and accountable.
- Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing support staff or vendors is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience hosting events.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
