Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the cook will ensure the daily operations of the kitchen; prepares and serves food in accordance with the daily menu.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares and serves meals.
- Organizes multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to delegate tasks and deliver results on deadline.
- Counts and records the number of people served.
- Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of the food service areas.
- Oversees the general cleaning of the food service area, especially on Saturday GI duties.
- Receives and monitors food deliveries and donations.
- Monitors the performance of volunteers in the food service department.
- Offers hospitality to all guests and clients.
- Prepares food for catering functions.
- Transports food to other Camillus House facilities as needed.
- Assists with the creation of daily menus.
- Maintains all health, sanitary, and fire standards according to the standards of the food division program.
- Other duties as requested.

- Physical Demands: While performing job duties, an employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers. May occasionally lift and move up to 25 lbs., clean (sit, bend/twist neck, bend/twist waist, squat, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, kneel, crawl, reach above/below shoulder height, repetitive movements, wipe, sweep, dust, mop). Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, color vision.
- Work Environment: The noise level of the work environment can range from low to moderate.
Work Schedule:
- Non-Remote Position
- Full-time: Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call), as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
- Education: High School diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience.
- Language: Proficiency in oral/written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
- Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs).
- Successful completion of Toxicology test, L2 and local background screening, and OIG.
- Valid FL Driver License.
- Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological, and healthcare needs of the vulnerable populations serviced.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in order to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.
- A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
