Position: HR Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes within a construction company. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English, with a deep understanding of HR principles in both languages, to effectively communicate and support our diverse workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Identify staffing needs across field and office roles.
    • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring skilled workers, engineers, project managers, and support staff.
    • Oversee onboarding to ensure new hires understand company policies, safety procedures and performance expectations.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and implement training programs to build technical, and necessary skills.
    • Coordinate safety training and certifications required for construction work.
    • Provide career development resources to support employee growth and retention.
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns and resolving workplace conflicts.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture that supports engagement and productivity.
    • Facilitate communication between field staff, supervisors, and management.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws as well as industry regulations.
    • Maintain employee records, contracts, and documentation.
    • Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure workplace safety standards are met.
  • Performance Management
    • Implement fair and consistent performance review processes.
    • Provide feedback and manage performance improvement plans.
    • Implement recognition practices to acknowledge high-performing employees.
  • Compensation and Benefits
    • Develop and manage compensation structures and benefits packages.
    • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
    • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessment, and training.
    • Ensure adherence to industry safety regulations and safety standards.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and employee handbooks.
    • Ensure HR activities are consistent with company policies.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on HR practices and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or HR leader, preferably within construction, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of HR metrics, compliance, and workforce management.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Strategic mindset and strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, Safety regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus.
