Position Summary
The Logistics Operations Specialist – Retail serves as the primary customer liaison for retail store remodeling and new store construction projects. This role is responsible for end-to-end coordination and oversight of white glove logistics services, ensuring the on-time, damage-free delivery of materials, fixtures, and equipment from multiple suppliers to active job sites. The Logistics Operations Specialist acts as the central point of communication between the customer, sales, suppliers, internal operations teams, and field personnel to deliver a high-touch, service-driven experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Project Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for retail customers throughout remodel and new store construction projects
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and ongoing status calls with customers and stakeholders
- Ensure customer expectations, timelines, and service requirements are clearly understood and met
Logistics Coordination
- Manage the planning and execution of white glove deliveries, including fixtures, materials, and equipment from multiple suppliers
- Coordinate inbound freight, warehousing, staging, final-mile delivery, and inside delivery services
- Align delivery schedules with construction timelines, store opening dates, and site readiness
- Track shipments, monitor milestones, and ensure on-time, in-full performance
Supplier & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the coordination hub between suppliers, carriers, installers, warehouses, and job sites
- Communicate delivery requirements, site constraints, and special handling instructions
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or damages quickly and professionally
Quality, Reporting & Issue Resolution
- Ensure white glove service standards are consistently met, including careful handling, placement, and documentation
- Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, damage rates, and customer satisfaction
- Provide regular status updates, reports, and post-project summaries to customers
- Proactively identify risks and implement solutions to prevent project disruptions
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, dispatch, warehouse, and field teams to execute projects successfully
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to retail logistics and project execution
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or project coordination
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Preferred
- Experience supporting retail store remodels or new store construction projects
- Familiarity with white glove, final-mile, or inside delivery services
- Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and suppliers
- Proficiency with TMS, WMS, or project management systems
