Job DescriptionDescription:
An Accounts Receivable specialist at a dealership is responsible for managing the money owed to the dealership by its customers. This includes tasks like recording payments, reconciling accounts, sending out customer statements, and handling collections. They also process payments from various sources like vehicle sales, service, and parts, and ensure accurate financial records.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Accurately record customer payments, updating accounts, and maintaining related documentation.
- Ensure that financial records are accurate by reconciling bank statements, charge card transactions, and other payment sources.
- Prepare and send customer invoices and statements for vehicle sales, service, and part.
- Follow up on outstanding payments, send reminders, and take necessary collection actions on overdue accounts.
- Prepare reports on accounts receivable status, payment trends, and other relevant financial information.
- Handle chargebacks, returns, and bad checks.
- Pass trade payoffs to the office manager.
- Reconcile service and parts receipts, including charge cards on a daily basis.
- Answer customer inquiries related to their accounts and provide assistance with payment-related issues.
- Pull original vehicle invoices for payoff requests.
- Other duties or projects as assigned by Management.
Education/Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in required.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills relevant to accounting.
- 1-3+ years’ experience in accounting roles required.
- Automotive dealership experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Excellent computer and software knowledge skills essential, including Excel, Word, Outlook.
- CDK software experience preferred.
- Data entry experience required.
- Must be accustomed to working under strict deadlines.
- Strong work ethic.
- A valid driver's license.
