REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports to the Director of Salem Trust Division
GENERAL FUNCTION: Serves as a proactive relationship manager, coordinating and managing all activities related to the delivery of a variety of custody services to institutional clients.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and answer clients’ account-related questions daily
- Meet with clients/trustees to achieve their satisfaction. Travel is a requirement.
- Identify additional sales and service opportunities and present them to clients
- Ensure Company profitability by periodic review of client fee schedules recommending changes
- Interact and build rapport with clients’ key decision makers and consultants
- Identify and refer new sales opportunities to management and assist in sales presentations
- Attend necessary conferences and functions
- Retain client base
- Establish setup of recurring monthly pension payments or lump sum payments to retirees
- Open and close accounts and transfer funds as necessary
- Process changes made for clients’ and retirees’ accounts
- Perform periodic administration reviews of accounts, ensuring all services are provided to clients and reiterated over time
- Serve as client liaison with internal groups
- Assist account associates with complex issues or problems
- Perform quality control tasks. Trade executions and client disbursement approvals required on daily basis.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or BA Degree or equivalent experience, post graduate education desired
- 5+ years’ experience in individual and institutional trust or related industry, specific to Relationship Management or Client Service
- Ability to work under pressure and adjust to unpredictable work volume
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of applicable trust administration
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Thorough understanding of trust accounting technology and able to learn job required systems and programs
