Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Creative Writing Instructor to lead engaging workshops and classes that ignite imagination and develop writing skills across diverse genres. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, inspiring environment where students can explore their unique voices, experiment with style, and build confidence in their craft.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver creative writing lessons that emphasize storytelling techniques such as plot development, character creation, dialogue, and thematic exploration.
  • Guide students through various writing exercises aimed at enhancing creativity and honing their individual writing styles.
  • Provide detailed, constructive feedback on students written work to support growth and refinement.
  • Encourage experimentation with different literary forms, including fiction, poetry, memoir, and dramatic writing.
  • Teach students to revise and edit their work effectively to improve clarity, impact, and voice.
  • Cultivate a classroom environment that values originality, imagination, and the fearless exploration of ideas.
  • Organize writing showcases, readings, or publications to celebrate student achievements.
  • Stay informed about contemporary trends and diverse voices in creative writing to enrich course content.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching creative writing in a classroom, workshop, or one-on-one setting.
  • Strong portfolio of published or professionally recognized creative work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Degree in Creative Writing, English, Literature, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with diverse literary voices and genres, including emerging and underrepresented writers.
