Douglas Elliman is one of the largest and most recognized residential real estate brokerages in the United States. Renowned for its dominance in the luxury market, strong national brand presence, and deep agent network, Douglas Elliman produces billions in annual sales volume and continues to set the standard in premier markets nationwide.
About the Opportunity:
Elliman Capital is the integrated lending arm of Douglas Elliman, built to deliver sophisticated lending solutions, modern infrastructure, and elevated service within one of the most powerful luxury real estate ecosystems in the country.
We are expanding our operations team and seeking an experienced Mortgage Processor to support a purchase-driven, high-end lending platform. This role is designed for seasoned processors who excel at building complete, accurate, and compliant loan files and who understand the importance of clear separation between processing execution and underwriting credit decisioning.
This is a hybrid position, combining structured in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
What Makes This Role Different:Processing Within a Luxury Real Estate Ecosystem
This is not a junior or transactional processing role. As a Mortgage Processor at Elliman Capital, you will manage files associated with Douglas Elliman’s elite agents, luxury properties, and high-net-worth clients, where precision and professionalism are critical.
This provides:
-
Exposure to complex, high-value purchase transactions
-
Close collaboration with loan officers and underwriting teams
-
A professional environment that values accuracy, organization, and accountability
-
The opportunity to support transactions that require disciplined execution and strong file control
A Platform Built for Clean File Delivery
Elliman Capital’s processing model is intentionally structured to ensure clear ownership and role separation across the loan lifecycle.
Processors are responsible for file completeness, documentation accuracy, and execution, while underwriting retains full responsibility for credit analysis and loan approval.
This platform includes:
-
Clearly defined processor and underwriter responsibilities
-
Standardized documentation and submission requirements
-
Strong investor and compliance alignment
-
Technology that supports clean handoffs and efficient underwriting review
Hybrid Flexibility With Operational Discipline
Elliman Capital offers hybrid flexibility without compromising operational rigor.
You will work within:
-
A structured hybrid schedule with defined in-office collaboration expectations
-
Clear productivity, responsiveness, and pipeline management standards
-
Direct access to underwriting and leadership for issue resolution
-
A culture that prioritizes quality execution over volume
Responsibilities:
-
Manage residential mortgage loan files from application through clear-to-close, with a focus on execution and accuracy
-
Collect, review, and organize borrower documentation strictly in accordance with published guidelines and underwriting requests
-
Prepare complete and well-documented files for underwriting submission without making credit determinations
-
Review loan disclosures for accuracy and compliance prior to delivery
-
Order, track, and manage third-party services including appraisals, title, and verifications
-
Clear underwriting conditions by obtaining required documentation and ensuring completeness, not by interpreting or waiving credit requirements
-
Communicate file status, outstanding items, and timelines clearly with loan officers, underwriters, and internal partners
-
Ensure all files meet investor documentation standards, internal quality expectations, and closing readiness requirements
-
Maintain pipeline organization, accuracy, and turnaround expectations
-
Escalate guideline, documentation, or structural questions to underwriting when appropriate
Requirements:
-
Three or more years of recent mortgage processing experience
-
Demonstrated experience processing purchase transactions end-to-end
-
Experience with Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans
-
Prior exposure to Non-QM products is strongly preferred
-
Encompass experience is required
-
Strong understanding of mortgage documentation standards and processing workflows
-
Working knowledge of mortgage compliance requirements, including TILA and RESPA
-
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
-
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
-
Professional demeanor aligned with a high-end client and agent base
-
Ability to perform in a hybrid environment with clear accountability and expectations
